Aquinas Workshop at Mount St. Mary in June

Mount St. Mary College in Newburgh will host the ninth annual Thomas Aquinas Philosophy Workshop, “Aquinas on Human Action and Virtue,” June 19-23.

The sponsors are Mount’s Catholic and Dominican Institute, the Thomistic Institute at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C., and the Notre Dame Center for Ethics and Culture in Indiana.

The first day will be devoted to graduate students, in philosophy or related disciplines. The second and third days will combine presentations by philosophers with periods for discussion and debate.

Speakers include Father James Brent, O.P., of the Dominican House of Studies; Father Stephen Brock of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross; Fred Freddoso of the University of Notre Dame; Steven Long of Ave Maria University; Father Michael Sherwin, O.P., of the University of Fribourg, Switzerland; and Candace Vogler of the University of Chicago.
