Josephine Maciocha

Josephine Maciocha, who with her husband, Stanley, was twice cited as the longest-married couple in the archdiocese, died Oct. 18. She was 101.

Josephine and Stanley were married for 77 years and were honored in 2019 and 2020 as the longest-married couple in the archdiocese following a search done by the archdiocesan Family

Life Office in conjunction with World Marriage Day in February. Her husband died Aug. 1.

Born in Passaic, N.J., Mrs. Maciocha grew up in Poland before returning to Yonkers where she met Stanley. In recent years, the two resided in Tarrytown.

A long-time parishioner of St. Casimir’s parish in Yonkers, where she and her husband were married, Mrs. Maciocha served in many capacities there and sang in the choir. She was a hostess

at the Polish Community Center in Yonkers for more than 60 years before retiring at age 84. Her daughters, Barbara Rose and Marilyn Gizzi, survive her as well as granddaughter Kristin Gizzi and great-granddaughters, Olivia and Sophia Flynn.

A Funeral Mass was offered Oct. 26 at St. Casimir’s Church. Burial was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Yonkers.
