Catholic School Students to Be Honored for Peacemaking

Three Catholic school students from the archdiocese will be honored at Pax Christi Metro New York’s annual Peacemaker Awards Reception in Keenan Commons at Xavier High School in Manhattan Sunday, June 2.

Daniela Pierro, of Loyola School, Manhattan; Lucy Booth, Marymount School of New York, Manhattan; and Noel Vasquez, All Hallows High School, the Bronx, will be recognized along with Luis Santiago, of Xaverian High School, Brooklyn, as Maloof Family Young Peacebuilders.

Pax Christi will also honor Anthony Donovan, a social justice and anti-war activist; Mary Yelenick, member of Pax Christi International’s NGO at the United Nations and Pax Christi USA’s anti-racism team; Father Ray Roden, pastor of Our Lady of Sorrows in Corona, Queens, and co-founder of Viva La Vida movement; and Edith Newman, servant leader of Pax Christi Downtown Brooklyn and Pax Christi Metro New York.
