More than $250,000 was raised at the Catholic School Regions of Central Westchester and Northern Westchester/Putnam’s 32nd annual dinner for Westchester Catholic schools Sept. 19 at the Apawamis Club in Rye. More than 240 guests attended.

Cardinal Dolan attended the dinner where the Muccia family received the William F. Harrington Award for its extraordinary support of Catholic education. The family has supported Catholic charities and service organizations in Westchester County and Catholic education in inner-city schools by supporting the Inner-City Scholarship Fund.

Rachel Cunningham, a freshman at John F. Kennedy Catholic High School in Somers who has attended Catholic school since kindergarten, spoke at the dinner. She said she dreams of attending the U.S. Air Force Academy and becoming a pilot.

“My Catholic school years have helped me realize my full potential as a student, so that I may have the confidence to achieve my goals and dreams,” Rachel said.
