Decree Issued for Church of St. Mary on Staten Island

The church of St. Mary on Staten Island, which was part of the parish of St. Joseph and St. Mary Immaculate, has been relegated as no longer a sacred site for worship. A decree was issued Jan. 4.

The space will cease to be a place for the celebration of Mass or other sacraments.

The decree may be read on the archdiocesan website, Access Pastoral, then Pastoral Planning, and Decree 1/4/20.
