Remembering St. Joseph

Posted

I am blessed to have grown up in a devout Roman Catholic family of 12 children. We said prayers each night that began with the Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be. My siblings were born over a 14-year span, and each newborn was announced during prayers on Christmas Eve. Our prayers together celebrated faith, relatives and family stemming from the graces of the Holy Trinity and the Blessed Virgin Mary, yet over time I began to regret that St. Joseph was not included in these most common daily prayers.

Pope Francis declared between Dec. 8, 2020 and Dec. 8, 2021 as the Year of St. Joseph. So I feel compelled to share my method of remembering him in my daily prayers. The Hail Mary became my vehicle by saying, “Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you and Joseph. Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.”
