Sister Alice Wengrzynek, M.M., who served for 27 years at Maryknoll in Ossining, died April 30 at the Maryknoll Sisters Center there. She was 85.

Sister Alice was at Maryknoll, 1991-2016 and 1986-1988. She served as secretary to two presidents of the Maryknoll Sisters, 1991-2002.

She earlier served in Taiwan, where she did youth and parish work. In Hong Kong, she processed hospital admissions and medical records at Our Lady of Maryknoll Hospital and later served as executive secretary for the hospital administrator and board of directors. She was secretary for the Asian Bishops’ Conference and Caritas International. She also worked with mentally and physically disabled children.

Born in Simpson, Pa., she entered the Mary-knoll Sisters Novitiate in 1953 and professed final vows in 1962.

Her sister, Anne, survives her.

Burial was in the cemetery at the Maryknoll Sisters Center. A Memorial Mass will be scheduled at a later date.
