Sister Claire Grieco, M.P.F., who taught at St. Ann’s School in East Harlem, died Oct. 8 at St. Joseph Hall, a health care facility at Villa Walsh in Morristown, N.J. She was 83.

She taught at St. Ann’s from 1961 to 1964.

She also taught in Brooklyn and in New Jersey, Baltimore and Rhode Island. She was a principal in New Jersey.

She was administrator of St. Joseph Hall at Villa Walsh until her death.

Born in Long Branch, N.J., she entered the Religious Teachers Filippini in 1949 and professed final vows in 1953.

She earned a bachelor’s degree from Fordham University.

She is survived by her brother Frank.

A Funeral Mass was offered Oct. 14 at Villa Walsh, with burial at Ave Maria Cemetery in Morristown, N.J.
