Sister Clare Regan, S.C., who served for 18 years at St. Catharine Academy in the Bronx, died May 21 at Schervier Nursing Care Center in the Riverdale section of the Bronx. She was 93.

At St. Catharine, Sister Clare was director of guidance, 1989-1991, and guidance counselor, 1973-1989. She also was a guidance counselor at Mount St. Michael Academy, the Bronx, 1992-1997,

Sister Clare taught at Cathedral High School, Manhattan, 1969-1973; the College of Mount St. Vincent, the Bronx, 1967-1969, where she also served as assistant dean of students; St. Joseph by-the-Sea High School, Staten Island, 1963-1967; St. Gabriel School, the Bronx, 1956-1958; and St. Raymond, the Bronx, 1948-1956.

She did volunteer work at Sacred Heart Convent, Yonkers, 1999-2011.

Born in Jersey City, N.J., she was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Manhattan and entered the Sisters of Charity of New York in 1947 and professed final vows in 1951.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Fordham University; a master’s in mathematics from The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C.; and master’s degrees in religious studies and counseling psychology, both from Manhattan College.

Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Yonkers. A Memorial Mass will be scheduled at a later date.
