Sister Josephine D’Agostino, S.C., who taught Spanish at Catholic schools on Staten Island for seven years, died April 29 in a car accident. She was 85.
Sister Josephine taught at Moore Catholic High School, 1976-1980, and St. Joseph by-the-Sea High School, 1971-1972; and Our Lady of Good Counsel School, 1974-1976. She also served in the dioceses of Brooklyn and Rockville Centre, and in Massachusetts.
Sister Josephine, a Sister of Charity-Halifax for 67 years, resided at St. Barnabas Convent, Bellmore, from 2018 until her death.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated May 7 at St. Barnabas Church. Burial was in St. John’s Cemetery, Middle Village.
