Sister M. Cecilian White, I.H.M., who served as financial secretary of LaSalle Academy in Manhattan for four years, died May 20 at Our Lady of Peace Residence in Scranton, Pa. She was 95.

Sister Cecilian was at LaSalle Academy, 1986-1990. She was financial secretary at Cardinal McCloskey Health Services, White Plains, 1991-1992.

She taught at Immaculata High School, Manhattan, 1959-1960. She also served in Brooklyn, Albany, Syracuse and Manhasset, and Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Connecticut.

Born in Oneida, she entered the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1944 and professed final vows in 1949.

She received a bachelor’s degree in education/mathematics from Marywood College, Scranton, Pa., and a master’s degree in mathematics from Villanova University, Villanova, Pa.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Funeral Mass and graveside service were private. Burial was in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow, Pa.
