Sister Mary Dorothy Robinson, S.U.

Sister Mary Dorothy Robinson, S.U., who was at St. Joseph School in Kingston for 31 years, died Feb. 20 at the Thompson House in Rhinebeck. She was 98.

Sister Mary Dorothy was at St. Joseph, 1955-1986. She served at John A. Coleman Catholic High School in Hurley, 1974-1984; Notre Dame School, Manhattan, 1943-1951; and Our Lady of Lourdes, Manhattan, 1940.

Sister Mary Dorothy, who was a teacher, choir director and librarian in her career in education, also served in Milwaukee.

Born in New York City, she entered the Society of St. Ursula in 1939 and professed her final vows in 1945.

She earned a bachelor’s degree from the College of Mount St. Vincent, the Bronx.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 26 in Linwood Chapel, Rhinebeck. Burial followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kingston.
