Sister Patricia Maureen Mulryan, S.C.

Sister Patricia Maureen Mulryan, S.C., who served as principal and teacher at Elizabeth Seton Academy in Yonkers and was treasurer of the Sisters of Charity of New York, died Feb. 9 at a hospice residence in New City. She was 89.

Sister Patricia served as treasurer of the Sisters of Charity of New York, 1981-1992, and assistant treasurer, 1978-1980. She was treasurer for another religious congregation, the Daughters of Divine Charity, 1992-2008.

She was principal of Elizabeth Seton Academy, 1966-1977 and taught there, 1961-1966. She also taught for 10 years at a school in the Diocese of Brooklyn.

In retirement, she was a resident of Seton Village in Nanuet and volunteered at the food pantry of two local churches.

Born in the Bronx, she attended Cathedral High School in Manhattan. She entered the Sisters of Charity of New York in 1949 and professed final vows in 1956.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the College of Mount St. Vincent and master’s degrees in education and business administration, both from Fordham University.

She is survived by her sister, Sister Patricia Elizabeth Mulryan, S.U.S.C., and her brother, William.

A Funeral Mass was offered Feb. 14 at Mount St. Vincent Convent in the Bronx. Burial was at St. Agatha Cemetery in Nanuet.
