Sister Rosaleen Sheridan, R.S.H.M.

Sister Rosaleen Sheridan, R.S.H.M., who served as a school teacher and administrator, died April 27 at Marymount Convent in Tarrytown. She was 88.

She taught at schools in Rome and London through the Marymount International Schools. She served as head of the school in London for 13 years ending in 2003. Her final assignment was in the guidance department at the school in Rome, 2003-2012.

Her first teaching assignments were at Marymount School of New York, Manhattan, 1952-1953, and St. Anne’s School, Garden City, 1950-1952.

Born in County Cavan, Ireland, she entered the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary in 1948 and professed final vows in 1955. She held a bachelor’s degree from Marymount College in Tarrytown, and a master’s in psychology from University College of Dublin. She was formerly known as Sister Kostka.

She is survived by a sister, Sue Sheanon, and nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass was offered April 30 at Marymount Convent. Burial was at Mount Calvary Cemetery in White Plains.
