Sister Winifred C.M. Lynch, O.P., who taught at St. Anthony’s School in West Harrison for four years, died Oct. 18 at the Dominican Life Center in Adrian, Mich. She was 97.
Sister Winifred served at St. Anthony’s, 1982-1986. She also served in Cheektowaga and Florida.
Born in Morristown, N.J., she entered the Adrian Dominican Sisters in 1946 and professed final vows in 1953.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Good Counsel College, White Plains, and a master’s in education from the University of Florida, Gainesville, Fla.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 22 in St. Catherine Chapel in Adrian, Mich. Burial was in the congregation cemetery there.
